The well known and loved Women's League, hosted by Pinergy Orwell Wheelers, returns for 2025 and we are delighted to announce that our very generous sponsors Appleby Jewellers are staying on as the event sponsors for another year
The Appleby Women’s League welcomes all levels and abilities of women racing from absolute beginners to experienced veterans from all clubs and interested parties. We aim to offer women new to the racing scene an introduction and foundation upon which to develop, while giving more experienced riders a solid platform to progress their race season. There will be separate handicapped races for beginner, intermediate and advanced racers.

Orwell 200 Audax

39 club members signed up for the Dublin, Meath, Kildare 200km Audax which started in Dundrum at 7am on 9th March. Many thanks to Dave Mc and Joe Daly Cycles for opening the shop for registration, start and finish of this event. The first control on this route is early, at 22km, at everyone was through this point by 8am.
From Leixlip its a straightforward 73km to Kilbeggan. The sun came out with the result that many riders were removing layers if they stopped for coffee at Enfield.

The Easter Flèche is unique in Audax terms. It is a 24hr ride ridden as a team event, Each team devises its own route, minimum 360km and traditionally, the routes of the Flèche in a given country or region meet at a common finishing point, (the Flèches / Arrows aiming at a single target).
In 2023, out of 1349 entrants worldwide, there was only ONE all-women’s team:
