Donal Crowley - Kay Stratton Memorials & IVCA Week 2 – Jack White’s Race Report

Donal Crowley & Kay Stratton Memorial – Race Report

Fresh off the back of the Des Hanlon, the Irish road racing season rolled on to one of the most anticipated events on the calendar — the Donal Crowley and Kay Stratton Memorial, hosted by Blarney Cycling Club.

A crew of Orwell riders headed south to sunshine and speed in Blarney for this National Series event.

🔸 Evan Keane, just back from a training block in Spain, continued his great run of form, finishing 16th and adding more valuable points to his tally.

🔸 In the C3 race, we had a massive result from Josh Francis, who went up the road and came home in 11th — a breakthrough ride! Matt Lynch also impressed, finishing a solid 25th in a big bunch sprint.

Meanwhile, Luke Keaney raced the Carn Classic on Saturday in Derry, where he opened his sprint a touch too early but still held on for 8th — more points in the bag!

Orwell momentum building nicely. On to the next one!

IVCA Week 2 – Jack White’s Race Report

Orwell once again had a strong turnout in the sunshine for Week 2 of the IVCA League, racing on the scenic roads of County Wicklow.

In the Black Group, Damien Long and Ronan Simms continued their fine form, with Damien claiming a strong 3rd place and Ronan following closely in 8th — great consistency from both riders.

Success continued in the Orange Group, where Kilian Doyle delivered a strong performance to take 5th place.

The club was also well represented across the board by Orla Henderon, Darran Kearney, Michael Hickey, Jim Carey, Matthew Broadstock, Harry Rochford, and Daragh Boyd, all putting in solid efforts on a tough course.

Great to see so many Orwell colours out again — roll on next week!
