Rás na nÓg

Rás na nÓg Report

A fantastic turnout from 14 Orwell riders at Rás na nÓg, all looking sharp in the new kit! For some, it was their first taste of stage racing - welcome to the world of racing Tadhg Connolly, Daniel O’Sullivan, and James O’Brien!

Despite predictions of rain, the skies stayed dry, making for great racing conditions. Day one saw some standout performances, with Molly, Daniel, Ben, Tadhg, Xander, Laoise, and Katie all showing impressive form. Plenty of other strong results across the board, and most importantly - everyone finished upright.

The final stage also took place in dry conditions, with no major shake-ups in the standings. However, Orwell riders delivered some fantastic performances to close out the weekend.

A huge thanks to Geroid and all at Drogheda Wheelers for another fantastic weekend of racing!

James O' Brien U14- personal report

"This weekend was my first ever cycling race Ras na nOg. I got into cycling because my dad raced with Orwell and always bring me out on rides. I found the race tough but it was very enjoyable. I got to meet some of the Orwell guys in between the races which was also very nice, overall it was a good experience and will definitely be doing more races."

On Sunday there was also Mountain bike event separately which Jaxon Jennings (u10) won. Charlie U14 just missed podium in 4th.
